WHY CHOOSE ALTAIR COUNSELLING SERVICES..?

Having worked in the field of health and wellbeing for more than 20 years, I have a compassionate understanding of humanity and one that is always deepening. I provide a gentle, safe and confidential space that allows any inner turmoil to be expressed and shared without judgement, whether during the exploration of specific issues, or as part of a general process of developing greater self-awareness. HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

I recommend a program of 6 sessions to start off with, so that there is a chance to establish a working relationship together. From there we can review and agree what is needed to support you further.

About Janet Williams

Janet Williams

  • Integrative Counselling (L5)

  • Post Qualifying Diploma (L7) in Counselling Children & Young People,

  • MSc Psychology,

  • Profession Doctorate in Counselling Psychology

I trained in Psychotherapy over twenty years ago while having small children, and then had a big career diversion - living in Australia for nearly three years and then setting up a family business which required my full attention for almost a decade!

It has been with great joy that I have returned to my first love, which is supporting people who are in crisis, or simply struggling to find their way in life. To get ‘back in the saddle’ so to speak, I expanded my knowledge and experience by training in Integrative Counselling (Level 5 Diploma), followed by a post qualifying Diploma in Counselling Children & Young People (Level 7 Diploma). Subsequently I have completed a MSc in Psychology and a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology.

Since 2020, I have been running a now renowned 10-week Trauma Programme funded by the local authority here in Bath, specifically working with Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) or single event trauma. I also have had considerable success offering tailor-made programs for individuals with Eating Disorders.

Bath is an amazing place to live and work, and draws people from all over the world to come and live, study or visit.

If you or someone close to you is looking for some extra support, please do get in touch!

Yours truly,

Janet
